The Florida Arc Hydro Working Group (FAHWG) is organizing two sessions for the Seven Hills Regional ESRI Users Group (SHRUG) in Tallahassee, November 15-16. The first session will be devoted to Arc Hydro technical updates from the water management districts and /or contractors. The second session will be devoted to the activities of FAHWG, such as the development of a statewide Arc Hydro database design (schema). Attendees will have the opportunity to help direct the development of a statewide Arc Hydro users group during this session. The UF Water Institute has volunteered to spearhead the development of the users group. The Florida Arc Hydro Working Group developed following a November 2005 statewide meeting that was held in Gainesville at the University of Florida’s Water Institute entitled ArcHydro in Florida: Core Principles and Collaboration. FAHWG is an ongoing collaboration of water resources professionals actively using Arc Hydro from Florida’s water management districts, county governments and private consultants. The FAHWG membership list is shown below. Nearly a year has passed since the Gainesville meeting: much has been accomplished by FAHWG, as well as by the individual agencies in their efforts to implement Arc Hydro in a wide variety of applications. This is a good time to bring folks interested in Arc Hydro together again for an update from FAHWG and to get things moving towards the creation of a statewide Arc Hydro users group.
