The Third Annual GIS Workshop Poster Session Committee invites you to submit a poster or map for display during the Workshop. All GIS-related subjects are welcome. Recognition for exceptional poster entries will be awarded as noted in the “Poster Award Categories” section below.

Potential displays include GIS analyses and visualizations, high-quality cartographic products, or project-based informational and educational posters. Please review the minimum requirements below carefully when designing the content of your poster.

Poster Award Categories

Posters will be judged by a panel of peers, with the exception of the additional category, “Best of Show,” that will be voted on by the Workshop attendees. An individual may submit one poster or map, and should specify one of the three categories below. In addition, an individual may submit a second entry as part of a team (in the same or another category).

Important note: all entries should contain minimum cartographic elements used for presentation of spatial data as appropriate. These may include but are not limited to: north arrow, legend, scale bar, units of measure, map projection etc.

First, Second, and Third Place plus Honorable Mention Awards will be given for the following categories:

Poster displays showing work flows and project development over time are encouraged. This category may also includes examples of GIS used as a tool for outreach to share the results of projects with the general public, managers, policy-makers, and other non-specialists.
Student
    Entry
Undergraduate- and graduate-level college students are encouraged to submit poster entries. General requirements as noted in Spatial Analysis/Visualization, or Project Presentation apply but student entries will be judged in a separate “student” category. Please include a description of the entry.
