Welcome,
The
Seven
Hills Regional User Group for GIS (SHRUG)
is “…an alliance of multi-discipline GIS
Professionals and users focused in the Tallahassee
regional area… organized… to promote and
support the use of GIS…”.
The Seven Hills Regional Usergroup for GIS
(SHRUG) would like to invite you and your company
to attend and participate in the 3rd Annual SHRUG
GIS Workshop.
Last
year’s workshop attracted
approximately 400 GIS professionals from
governmental agencies, educational institutions,
and private companies.
In addition, participants were not only
from the immediate Tallahassee
area, but we are growing to include
representatives from other areas of
Florida as well as
Georgia and
Alabama. Still
in our grassroots years, soon we will have enough
participants to call the SHRUG GIS Workshop a
Southeast United States Region Workshop.
Plans
are underway for the 3rd
Annual SHRUG GIS Workshop.
We are already working on improving all
aspects of the 2003 SHRUG GIS Workshop: number of attendees, number of exhibitors
and sponsors, and number of sessions/presentations
as well as such items as a new improved system for
the distribution of the attendee contact
information for the exhibitors/sponsors and new
social events.
As GIS expands and the number of users and
applications increase, it is presumed that in the
future everyone’s day-to-day life will include
GIS. Therefore,
we have chosen the 2004 Workshop theme to be “Mapping
Our Future”.
The workshop will take place at the Leon
County
Civic
Center, November 15 – 18,
with training taking
place on November 15, 16 & 19.
To
succeed in the workshop’s growth, we will be
inviting a larger number of sponsors and vendors
to be part of the event.
