The
Technical Session Committee invites you to submit abstracts for
presentations or papers
to be presented at the conference. The primary categories are as
follows:
Surveying
& GIS
The
fields of surveying and GIS are strongly integrated.
Many
GIS systems, especially local government projects, which
are built on large-scale (1:2400 or larger) base maps rely
on survey control networks for positional control. Vertical accuracy can be critical for certain
applications, particularly flooding. Papers that describe
survey issues relevant to GIS are sought. Some suggested
topics are:
Using
Survey Techniques to Control Aerial Mapping Projects
Analyzing
Survey Errors and the Use of Least Squares
Adjustments
Geodetic Control Network Design
Horizontal and Vertical Datum Issues
International Terrain Reference Frame (ITRF)
Surveying and Cadastral Mapping
Using
Surveying Techniques for GIS Positional Accuracy
Assessment
