WELCOME,
The Seven
Hills Regional User Group for GIS (SHRUG) is
“…an alliance of multi-discipline GIS Professionals and users
focused in the Tallahassee regional area… organized… to
promote and support the use of GIS…”.
In 2002, we held the inaugural SHRUG GIS Workshop, “Integrating
GIS Into Our Communities.” For the first year, we
were surprised by the overwhelming response and interest within
the community and surrounding areas.
The workshop attracted approximately 350 GIS professionals
from governmental agencies, educational institutions, and private
companies.
Powered
by the success of the 2002 Workshop, the SHRUG Planning Committee
has begun to plan for the Second Annual SHRUG GIS Workshop.
Our goal is to enhance the Workshop in every aspect
including: number of
attendees, number of exhibitors and sponsors, and number of
sessions/presentations. To
tie in with that goal and the ever-growing applications of GIS, we
have chosen the 2003 Workshop theme to be
“Expanding Our Boundaries.”
The workshop will take place at the Leon County Civic
Center, November 19 - 21, coinciding with GIS
Day on November 19th.
To
succeed in the Workshop’s growth, we will be inviting a larger
number of sponsors
and exhibitors to be part of the event.
We seek your company’s support and
involvement in the
2003 Workshop. SHRUG
is comprised of GIS professionals from
public and private
organizations that recognize the value of the vendor as well as
attendee participation for a workshop to be successful; your
involvement and commitment would be greatly appreciated.
SHRUG
would be honored by your commitment to support our Second Annual
SHRUG
GIS Workshop, and we thank you for considering the
opportunities available to your organization by participation as
an exhibitor and/or sponsor.
|
We
look forward to sharing the efforts for the Second Annual SHRUG
GIS Workshop together with you.

Sincerely,
Erika Brandenburg
