Munson Hills Off-Road Trail Ride

What - Ride the Munson Hills Off-Road Bicycle Trail.

 

When - 4:00 - 6:00 PM, Tuesday, November 18, 2003.

 

Where - Meet in the parking lot of the Tallahassee-St. Marks Historic Railroad Trail State Park.  The trail is about 4.75 miles south of the State Capitol Building on South Monroe St. (see .pdf map)

 

Amenities - The St. Marks Railroad State Trail trailhead has restroom facilities and a water fountain.  There is a  Shell gas station with a food store and sandwich shop adjacent to the parking lot at the corner of South Monroe St. and Capitol Circle (US 319).

 

Ride Description - Join local off-road riders for a late afternoon ride in the Apalachicola National Forest.  Meet at the trailhead (paved parking lot) of the Tallahassee-St. Marks Historic Railroad Trail State Park at 4:00 PM.  We'll ride on the paved St. Marks trail for a bit more than a mile where we'll pick up the Munson Hills trail.  Munson Hills provides a 4-mile loop and a 7-mile loop.  The trail is moderately technical with some obstacles and a lot of sand.  The relief is gentle. The 7-mile loop take about an hour at a moderate pace.
